Arena defeats Wiota 13-3, improves to 6-5 in Sunday HTL Baseball
Arena picked up a 13-3 win over visiting Wiota on Sunday in home talent baseball. The Aces had 11 hits on the way to the 7 inning 10 run rule win. Cole White was 3 for 5 with an rbi and 3 runs scored. Nate Jennings was 2 for 5 with 3 rbi and was the winning pitcher after pitching 6 innings on a warm and muggy afternoon. Zach Cady and Jimmy Jennings each had 2 hits and Trey Schulte walked 4 times. Eli Alt pitched one inning of relief for the Aces as they improved to 6-5 in Sunday league action and avenged an earlier in the season loss to the Indians.
Maddox Goebel and Beau Podner both singled and scored in the first inning as Wiota took a 2-0 lead. The Indians managed just 4 hits on the day. Gage Banfield suffered the pitching loss. Barry Schliem worked 2 innings of relief from the mound. The Indians fell to 5-6 in the league.
Following the 13-3 win, Arena will prepare for a tough stretch of games during the final weeks of the regular season. They will host Dodgeville on Saturday. Wiota will host Pine Bluff/Mount Horeb on Sunday.
