
Arena won 8-1 over visiting Muscoda in Sunday league Home Talent Baseball. The Aces improved to 3-3 with the win and the Mudcats fell to 0-4.
Elijah Alt pitched the first 5 innings for the win after striking out 5, walking 1 and giving up 1 hit. Kacey Layton had the only hit against Alt with a 5th inning single. Daniel Yahnke pitched the last 4 innings and gave up 2 hits.
At the plate Arena was led by Zach Cady who was 3 for 4 with a double.Alan Spurley was 2 for 4 with 2 rbi, Jimmy and Nate Jennings both had 2 hits. Jimmy had 3 rbi. The Aces plated 3 runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings and they scored 2 in the 4th for the extent of their scoring.
Muscodas’ Blake Bussan worked all 9 innings and suffered the pitching loss. Kacey Layton was 2 for 4, and Bussan was 1 for 4 with a walk. Payton Chappell walked and scored the Mudcats only run on a wild pitch in the 7th.
Following the 8-1 win, Arena will prepare for another Sunday home game. Next up will be Shullsburg/Benton. Muscoda will travel to Belleville on Sunday for its next game.
