Defying all the narratives headed into the game, the Green Bay Packers absolutely dominated the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

The Packers (3-2) blew out the Bears (3-2), winning 31-7 as quarterback Jordan Love put on a masterclass performance at Lambeau Field in another chapter of this heated historic rivalry.

NFL teams honored Mike Ditka ahead of Sunday’s games after the legendary Bears player and coach, and Chicago cultural icon, died last week at age 86.

Green Bay also paid tribute to Ditka featuring the University of Wisconsin-Madison band and a moment of silence.

Without injured star quarterback Caleb Williams, the Bears hoped to come into Green Bay and win it for Ditka. But the Packers spoiled any hopes of that at virtually every point in the game.

Green Bay took the lead early when Love connected with receiver Christian Watson for a 42-yard touchdown in the first quarter and running back Marshawn Lloyd found the end zone in the second quarter.

Chicago fought back at the end of the first half, but Green Bay kept it going in the second half as head coach Matt LaFleur outdueled Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. Green Bay had some resemblance of a running game finally and dramatically less penalties.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson brought some intensity back to the rivalry when he was hired in Chicago ahead of last season with comments he made directed at LaFleur.

Including playoffs, the LaFleur-Johnson series record is tied 2-2.

Watson and Lloyd each found the end zone again in the second half.

The Green Bay offensive line faced scrutiny in recent weeks, but Love was able to stand in the pocket on Sunday.

Love finished the game 25-for-31, 367 yards passing, two touchdowns, and a 137.5 QB rating.

Watson had six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Receiver Matthew Golden had six catches for 123 yards.

Chicago and Green Bay meet again on Christmas Day.

Next week, the Packers host the Dallas Cowboys (2-3) on “Sunday Night Football.”
