The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a variety of calls across the county on Thursday, ranging from medical emergencies and animal calls to disorderly conduct and motor vehicle accidents.
Emergency medical crews were dispatched to several calls throughout the day, including responses in the City of Darlington, the Village of Benton, Belmont Township, and South Wayne. Deputies also handled reports of livestock on the roadway in Fayette and Blanchard Townships, an injured animal in Gratiot Township, disorderly conduct in Willow Springs Township, and a civil dispute in Wayne Township.
Among the reported incidents was a two-vehicle collision on East Platteville Avenue in Belmont Township around 6:14 PM. According to sheriff's officials, 53-year-old Adam C. Ducharme (DOO-sharm) of Lancaster was traveling northbound on State Highway 126 in a 2000 Ford when his vehicle was struck by a 2015 Buick driven by 43-year-old Dustin J. Nunn of Cuba City. Officials reported that Nunn was westbound on County Trunk Highway G and failed to stop at a stop sign. Nunn and two passengers were transported to the hospital for minor injuries, and both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage.
