The Cazenovia Reds finished the regular Sunday season of Home Talent Baseball with a 10 inning 8-7 walk off win against visiting Sauk Prairie.
The Reds led early at 2-0 before falling behind. Aaron Huebsch drove in the first 2 runs and wound up with 4 rbis for the game.Isaac Jennings drove in a run with a double in the 5th inning. It was one of 6 two baggers for the Reds in the game. Trailing in the bottom of the 9th by 2 runs, Cazenovia’s Hewston Boland doubled home 2 runs to knot the score at 7.
Tied in the 10th inning each team got to start with a runner at 2nd base. The Twins failed to score in the top of the frame. In the bottom of the 10th, with Eli Jennings on 2nd base, Marcus McCauley bunted for a hit and Jennings went to 3rd. With one out and runners at 2nd and 3rd, Colton Greenwood hit a fly ball to center field which scored Jennings and the Reds won in walk off fashion on fan appreciation day.Cazenovia used 4 pitchers on the hot and muggy day.
Isaac Jennings, Aaron Huebsch, Nick Stittleburg and Nathan Bauer all took turns on the mound with Bauer getting the win.The Twins also used 4 pitchers with Alex Mayor, Adam Ballweg, Austin Pagel, and Bryan Bruenig all working from the mound. Kyle Bruenig, Mike Jordahl, Alex Mayer, Jackson Bruenig, and Grant Sorg all had 2 hits for Sauk.Once again the final score from a warm Sunday with a 117 degree heat index was Cazenovia 8 and Sauk Prairie 7.
