The Milwaukee Brewers were in a class of their own in 2026 and it culminated in the first World Series championship in franchise history.

The Brewers won Game 5 of the World Series on Wednesday, Oct. 28, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-1, in St. Petersburg, Florida, and winning the series 4-1.

After a stumble in Game 4, the Brewers were inevitable in Game 5 with star players producing hits and starting pitcher Jacob Misiorowski on the mound.

Venezuelan catcher William Contreras had one of the great all-around performances in World Series history, with great defense, stellar decision making on challenges and having viral moments. He earned Most Valuable Player.

Rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt continued his hot hitting from last night, recording six hits in a row between the two nights. The next at-bat was a sac fly RBI.

Venezuelan outfielder Jackson Chourio recorded a hit in Game 5 to finish as team leader in hits in this World Series (11).

Chourio and Pratt are the two youngest players in MLB history to record a hit in five-plus at-bats in the World Series.

The future is bright in Milwaukee.

And now the city gets a World Series parade. The team announced a parade will take place Friday morning followed by a celebration at the Summerfest grounds.

It’s a rite of passage growing up in this part of the world to show up hours before first pitch of a Brewers game at the old County Stadium or Miller Park, just to tailgate, grill brats, drink beers, and maybe play some catch with family and friends.

The Brewers have gotten close before, in 1982, and the Milwaukee Braves, led by Hank Aaron, won the World Series in 1957, nearly 70 years ago.

But the dominance of this 2026 Milwaukee Brewers ballclub all season long united sports fans in the state of Wisconsin with their relentless energy that is choreographed by the cool, calm and collected manager Pat Murphy.

Watch parties at American Family Field and the Deer District erupted in cheers after the final pitch. Fireworks could be heard going off all around Milwaukee.

It’s hard to not think about Bob Uecker, the longtime voice of the Brewers, who died in January 2025.

Ueck, they did it.
