It was one of the great innings in baseball history.

The Milwaukee Brewers absolutely ran the Tampa Bay Rays off the field in Game 3 of the World Series, winning 10-1, and pushing the series to a 3-0 lead, and one game away from the first title in franchise history.

The Brewers had 16 hits on Monday, Oct. 26, as Milwaukee exploded in the fifth inning, scoring eight runs.

Every starter reached base at least once in the game and no one hit a home run. Outfielder Jackson Chourio had four hits, while catcher William Contreras and second baseman Brice Turang had three each.

Starting pitcher Robert Gasser had a stellar performance of his own, giving up just one hit in six innings.

Milwaukee is now on the doorstep of history. No one has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the World Series. The Brewers are presenting their own case for being one of the great teams in MLB history.

Much of the stadium in St. Petersburg was filled with Brewers fans. The Rays are also seeking their first championship. But the chance for cheaper ticket prices and an impromptu vacation to Florida likely was a factor in Milwaukee fans having a presence in the stadium.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m.
