The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) is reminding electric and natural gas utility customers to make payment arrangements
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) is reminding electric and natural gas utility customers to make payment arrangements or seek financial help prior to the start of the annual winter heating disconnection moratorium. Under Wisconsin state law, utility providers are barred from shutting off essential residential heating services from November 1st through April 15th for nonpayment.
For households currently without power or gas, utilities are not required to restore service until payment plans are formally established. Customers should contact their utility providers to arrange a payment schedule. In addition, financial aid is accessible to qualifying families via the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP), which offers relief for emergency energy needs, furnace repairs, and weatherization services.
