Governor Tony Evers and the DNR have announced two major grant initiatives
Governor Tony Evers, in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, has announced two major grant initiatives aimed at addressing PFAS contamination across Wisconsin. Supported by the $125 million PFAS Trust Fund established in the 2023–25 state budget, the newly launched PFAS Community Grants Sampling Program and the Wisconsin PFAS Private Well Testing Program provide key financial assistance for testing municipal water supplies, public facilities, and private wells.
Under these programs, local municipalities can secure funding to evaluate water safety and identify emerging contaminants, while eligible private well owners outside participating municipalities can request direct home testing kits through the Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene. Together, these initiatives mark a significant milestone in state efforts to ensure clean, safe drinking water for all Wisconsin residents, with additional funding programs planned to rollout in the coming years.
