U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Wisconsin State Director Andrew Iverson announced today that the USDA will invest nearly $46,000 to support microenterprise development organizations in rural Wisconsin through startup support, growth initiatives, training, and technical assistance.
As part of this funding, ADVOCAP, Inc. will receive a $1,940 grant to offer training and technical support to rural microentrepreneurs and small businesses. ADVOCAP has dedicated more than 25 years to assisting small, rural enterprises with a mission to empower low-income entrepreneurs, reduce poverty, and help individuals achieve self-sufficiency through start-up and ongoing assistance.
Additionally, Cap Services Inc. will utilize a $44,044 grant to deliver technical assistance and training to microenterprises across the region. Cap Services Inc. operates as a private non-profit organization dedicated to mobilizing essential resources that enable low-income individuals to achieve long-term economic and emotional self-sufficiency.
These funding awards are distributed through the USDA Rural Development’s Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program (RMAP), which provides loans and grants to Microenterprise Development Organizations. The grants help fuel growth via a Rural Microloan Revolving Fund along with ongoing technical support. More details regarding the RMAP can be accessed online.
