Packers RB Josh Jacobs will be eligible to play in Week 7 against Lions
Packers star running back Josh Jacobs will be eligible to play when Green Bay travels to Detroit to play the Lions in Week 7.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will remove Jacobs from commissioner’s exempt list on Monday, Oct. 19, according to national media outlets.
The league said the investigation is ongoing and he could still be suspended.
Jacobs pleaded no contest on Sept. 10 to misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property charges following a May 23 dispute with his then-girlfriend in which a criminal complaint said Jacobs became physical with his ex-girlfriend causing injuries.
Both the victim and Jacobs are suing the local police department handling the case, requesting that records, videos be sealed from the public. Much of the incident was captured on surveillance footage.
Despite the ongoing legal battles, Goodell is making Jacobs eligible for practice and to ultimately play in Detroit (3-2) on Oct. 25. The Packers (3-2) currently have the NFL’s worst rushing attack.
Green Bay hosts the Dallas Cowboys (2-3) on “Sunday Night Football,” Oct. 18, at Lambeau Field.
