The Brewers will either advance to the World Series for the first time in 44 years while in Los Angeles or the National League Championship Series will return to Milwaukee.
The Brewers have won Game 2 of the NLCS, 7-4, against the Dodgers. The Crew now has a 2-0 lead as the series shifts to LA for the next three games.
The Brewers brought the offense to this game, with five players having multiple hits. But the story of the game is once again Milwaukee pitching.
Brewers held the Dodgers to just three hits, all given up by starter Logan Henderson. The bullpen then went on to hold LA hitless, retiring 15 consecutive batters.
Milwaukee relief pitcher Aaron Ashby is credited with the save.
Both teams exchanged runs and leads into the sixth inning when catcher William Contreras’ single drove in third baseman David Hamilton for the go-ahead run. Contreras’ solo home run the inning before tied the game again.
Contreras finished 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI. Hamilton was 2-for-3. Designated hitter Christian Yelich was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Second baseman Brice Turang was 2-for-3 with an RBI. And shortstop Cooper Pratt was 2-for-4.
In the MLB, home field is on a 2-3-2 schedule. Game 3 is Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. from Dodger Stadium with starter Robert Gasser on the bump.
