Work Brittle Tunes on Those Were The Days

Celebrate Labor Day weekend with Those Were the Days on WRCO Saturday night! My work history started on the farm. I am not sure that my parents would have given me a great recommendation if they had been asked about my work habits. I got better with age, but those early years caused my mom to utter the assessment, “Jim, that kid ain’t to work brittle”. This meant that I wasn’t open to hard work, I think. My mom would try to wake me up with guilt, threats, and bribes. I would roll over and pickup my shoes and pound them on the floor to make it sound like I was walking around. Then I would go back to sleep. It was all fun and games until she was standing in the doorway when I did it. The trouble was I was studying for my future radio career late at night listening to music and shooting the breeze with friends. This is what I now get paid for. Life is good after a bumpy start in the work force. It also helps to do something you truly love.

This Saturday night, we will feature another guest d.j. courtesy of our Walk with G.R.A.C.E. radio auction. This soon to be radio star donated a lot of money to the cause. I don’t want to share his true identity, but I can tell you he is a big man on the river, and I used to be scared of his dad.
