
Many communities in our are set to celebrate the 4th of July
The United States of America is 250 years old and many area communities are holding Fourth of July events Saturday that will celebrate our country’s birthday and independence. Lone Rock’s annual celebration begins this morning with the Marketplace opening at 7:00, a 5K Water Walk-Run will be held at 8:00 and the Parade steps-off at 11:00.
The Community Congregational Church of Lone Rock will be serving BBQ Chicken at Fireman’s Park starting at 11:00 and the EMS Chicken BBQ will be at the Lone Rock Fire Department after the Parade. At Noon the Bouncy Houses for the kids will get underway. A Sand Wrestling Tournament and Tun*ingo will be held at 4:00, music will be provided by Doc’s DJ from 5:00 until midnight, a Raffle Drawing will be held at 6:00 and Fireworks will be at dusk. The Boscobel Fireman’s 2026 July 4th Celebration will be held at Kronshage Park in Boscobel.
Activities include the Firecracker Run starting this morning at 8:00, the Giant Street Parade gets underway at 1:00, Kid’s Rides will be held from 1:30 to 7:00, Countryfied Band will perform from 3:00 to 7:00, Willy & Hank Kid’s Firefighting Challenge will be from 6:30 until 8:00 and the areas largest Fireworks Show will be at Dusk. Concessions and food will be available during all events. Absolutely no carry-ins or fireworks.
American Legion Post 223 will be sponsoring this year’s Fourth of July Celebration at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Hillsboro. Beginning at 4:00 Donnie Reyzek will play live music followed by a special performance of the play “Oh Say Can You See 250 Years of American History” at 7:00. From 4:00 to 9:00 enjoy various foods, beverages and family-friendly activities.
There will be a fireworks show over Veterans Memorial Lake at dusk. Other area communities that will be holding fireworks shows tonight include Eastman, Gays Mills, La Farge, Mauston, Mazomanie, Mineral Point, Platteville, Tomah, Viroqua and Westby.
