Special Badge

RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Green Lake County Sheriff’s deputies are sporting a special badge these days.

Chief Deputy Matt Vande Kolk says the Sheriff wanted to do something to honor the Sheriff’s department and celebrate the country’s 250^th Anniversary. It incorporates the American Flag and honors everything the country stands for.

Vande Kolk says we live in a country that is among the best in the world and it is no small feat to endure everything that we have.

Vande Kolk says he will add this badge to his collection which includes two other special badges issued by the department, one to celebrate an anniversary by the state and another after Deputy Bruce Williams lost his life in the line of duty.
