RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- A 52-year-old Waupaca man is facing charges for a road rage incident in Fond du Lac Tuesday night.

According to Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials it started on Interstate 41 near Johnson Street. The man was making hand gestures while following a man and his family in their sedan with his pickup truck. He followed them into the Target parking lot and exited his vehicle when they parked.

The Sheriff’s Communications Center advised the victim to put some space between them and drive into the Walmart parking lot. The pickup truck driver continued following the family even after a Sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the pickup.

That began a pursuit out of the parking lots that culminated at a Kwik Trip Store on North Peters Avenue. Multiple deputies and Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac Police officers initiated a high-risk traffic stop taking the pickup truck driver into custody without incident.

The Kwik Trip went into a lockdown procedure during the traffic stop. No one was injured and there was no property damaged during the incident.
