The City Auditorium Restoration Project receives $84,000 grant

The Richland County Performing Arts Council was awarded an $84,000 grant from Wisconsin’s Non-State Grant Program for the City Auditorium Restoration Project. This funding, supported by State Representative Tony Kurtz, is part of a larger statewide initiative to invest in community development and cultural assets. The renovations will address structural updates, accessibility, and technical infrastructure to modernize the historic venue and support local economic vitality. The council, represented by board members Mick Cosgrove and Duane Welte, expressed gratitude for the state and local support and welcomed continued involvement from the community.

Kurtz praised the grant award as a meaningful investment in Richland County’s cultural and economic future, noting that facilities like the City Auditorium play a critical role in bringing

people together and supporting local tourism and small businesses.  Kurtz stated, “Community spaces like the City Auditorium are essential to the identity and vitality of our rural towns.”

The Richland County Performing Arts Council is very grateful for Representative Kurtz’s direction, assistance and encouragement noting “It’s important to us to know our local and State leaders are supporting our efforts” said Mick Cosgrove.
