Vernon County Human Services Department will assist individuals with Power of Attorney for Healthcare documents the first Thursday of each month from 9:00 to Noon at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Vernon County. To make an appointment call 608-637-5201 or 1-888-637-1323.
The Ithaca FFA Greenhouse will open Thursday, May 1. You will find over 200 hanging baskets to choose from and a wide variety of bedding plants from geraniums and petunias to impatients and dahlias. Hours are weekdays 9:00 to 4:30, or by appointment and Saturday from 9:00 to Noon. All proceeds help to fund leadership conferences and state and National convention expenses for the Ithaca FFA.
Richland County Senior Dining Meal sites are open to the public for in-person dining. The Woodman Senior Center will serve meals Monday through Friday at 11:45. Home delivered meals are available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Call Tina or Sandi at 608-647-2323. The Germantown Senior Dining Meal Site, located at St. Anthony’s School (32497 County Highway V, Cazenovia) is open Wednesdays with serving at 11:15. Home delivered meals are available for delivery Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. To reserve a meal call Rita at 608-983-2798. The Rockbridge Meal Site at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (25500 Rockbridge School Street, Richland Center) is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with serving at 11:30. To reserve a meal, call Norma Pyfferoen at 608-647-3900 or 608-649-3269. All reservations must be made by 1:00 the day prior. The suggested contribution for those age 60 and older is $4.00.

The film screening of Frank Lloyd Wright: Phoenix From the Ashes will be held Thursday, May 1 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Taliesin Hillside Theater, Spring Green. The documentary portrays Frank Lloyd Wright’s life and his works with film footage, photos and conversations with biographers, art historians and the author T.C. Boyle. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offers a free course to anyone who wants to learn English. GRACE will host an outdoor run/walk event Saturday, May 17, at the Dr. Kilian Meyer Building in Richland Center. It will include a ¼ mile kids run, 1 mile fun run/walk with the Firefighters Challenge, 5k, and 10k distances, there’s something for all abilities. Register before May 1st to guarantee your event t-shirt. Late registrations are welcome, but shirts are not guaranteed. Register in person at the GRACE office above Royal Bank in Richland Center, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 to 3:00, or online at walkwithgrace.com.
Adult Summer Camp will be held at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center Saturday, July 12, from 2:00 to 7:00. The event will feature summer camp activities and locally-brewed beverages in support of children’s environmental education in southern Wisconsin. For the suggested minimum donation, attendees will receive a reusable cup to fill with beverages of their choice. Campers must be 21 years of age by the event date to register for Adult Summer Camp. Tickets are available until May 1st for a reduced rate or suggested donation, after which the minimum suggested donation is $60 per ticket.

The Peoples Community Bank and Potpourri GRACE Teams will hold a bake sale Friday, May 2, from 9:00 until gone at The Peoples Community Bank in Richland Center.
A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Friday, May 2, from 9:30 to 1:30 at Wonewoc High School. Appointments are preferred by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or go online to redcrossblood.org.
St. Luke Church in Plain will host a Family Style Fish Fry Friday, May 2, from 5:00 to 8:00. Carry-outs will also be available.
Break bread with community members at a free community meal each Friday at 5:30 at the Other Door in Viroqua, Vernon County’s Drop In Center.
ADRC and Symons Recreation Complex will host the 3rd annual 3K/5K Wellness Stride Thursday, May 22, at 5:00 starting at Symons. All ages are encouraged to participate. Pre-register by Friday, May 2, for $10. The cost of registration after May 2 will be $15. Individuals over 60 and under 11 are free. Shirts will also be provided to those who pre-register by May 2. Saturday, May 3
Castle Rock Lutheran Parish, Montfort will host its Fishers Community Breakfast Saturday, May 3, from 7:00 to 10:30. Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, potatoes, and refreshments will be served.
Electronic Recycling will be held Saturday, May 3, from 8:00 to Noon at the Richland County Highway Shop.
Eagle Township Clean-up Days will be held Saturday, May 3 & 10, from 8:00 to Noon. Attendants will be on duty. The following items will not be accepted: microwaves, tvs, used oil, paint, or electronics.
Town of Richwood Spring Clean-up for residents will be held Saturday, May 3 and May 10, from 8:00 to 2:00 each day at the town shop. Tires will be accepted on May 3 only and microwaves will not be accepted.
All Ladies of the community are invited to the Church Women United sponsored May Friendship Day being hosted by Park Street Christian Church Saturday, May 3, at 9:00.
Spring Green Fire & EMS will host an Open House Saturday, May 3, from 11:00 to 3:00. See how emergency personnel keep the community safe. The event will include: fire truck rides; fire hose spray competitions; Jaws of Life demos; DNR/WI River Project will demonstrate life jacket safety, canoe and boating safety; Bike Safety, please bring your own bike; med flight; The Spring Green Police Department and Sauk County Sheriffs Department will have K9, SWAT, and Drone Demos; Alliant Energy will demonstrate Wires and Fires. There will also be free blood pressure and blood sugar check, a variety of raffle items, as well as food and refreshments for sale.
The Coon Creek Community Watershed Council (CCCWC) will host its third annual Coon Creek Confluence watershed celebration Saturday (May 3) from 11:00 to 5:00 at Timber Coulee’s Westby Rod and Gun Club. Highlights of the day include an afternoon of live music with a 1:00 headline performance from Mollie B and her full band with Ted Lange; a creekside hog roast featuring the Chaseburg-based Simply Smoked family beginning at Noon; a fishing pole giveaway sponsored by Coulee Region Trout Unlimited and WKTY while supplies last; a kids’ polka party with Mollie B at 12:30; and a Watershed Fair featuring farmers, makers, and other conservation partnersEntry to the Coon Creek Confluence is free. Tickets to see Mollie B’s 1:00 performance are $25 for adults, and may be purchased at the door. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, shoes that are comfortable wearing on grass, extra layers, and their own picnicware to help the CCCWC reduce waste.

Otter Creek Lutheran Church, rural Highland, will host its annual pancake breakfast Sunday, May 4, from 8:00 to 12:30. The cost of the all you can eat breakfast is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
The North Crawford FFA will once again host its Annual Auto Show on Sunday, May 4, from 11:00 to 2:00 at North Crawford High School. The event is open to the public, and concessions will be available. Additionally, the school greenhouse will be open during the event.
The Boaz Lions Club will host a Mastodon Building Open House Sunday, May 4, from 1:00 to 4:00. A brat stand will also be serving from 1:00 to 4:00. The building will continue to be open each Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00.
The Wundo Band will provide the music at a dance at the American Legion Clubrooms in Richland Center Sunday, May 4, from 1:00 to 5:00.
Kickapoo Cowboy Church is held at 6:00 on the first Sunday of the month, April through December, at the Old Oak Inn in Soldiers Grove.
