Republican Kevin Petersen wins 57th Assembly District

The 57th Assembly District covers parts of Waushara, Waupaca, Outagamie, Portage, and Adams counties in east-central Wisconsin.

WISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Incumbent Republican Kevin Petersen has been called the winner of the race for the 57th Assembly District in Wisconsin.

The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening.

The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered solid Republican with a projected margin of 33 points.

Petersen, who was first elected to the Assembly in 2006, currently represents the 40th District, but was drawn into the 57th District. He is the Speaker Pro Tempore and serves on seven committees or councils.

Petersen defeated Democratic challenger Ruth Caves.

The 57th Assembly District covers parts of Waushara, Waupaca, Outagamie, Portage, and Adams counties in east-central Wisconsin.
