Gov Evers announces HPE expansion in Chippewa Falls
Governor Tony Evers, alongside the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), announced a major expansion of HPE's operations in Chippewa Falls. HPE plans to invest $75 million over the next five years to meet rising global demand for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing solutions. The project is expected to create 75 new high-skill jobs in the region, adding to the nearly 500 Wisconsinites currently employed at the facility.
To facilitate the expansion, WEDC is authorizing up to $5.1 million in performance-based Enterprise Zone tax credits. This builds upon an initial $8 million agreement established in 2021, under which HPE exceeded its original commitments by investing more than $25.9 million, creating 120 jobs, and retaining 486 positions. The new capital investment will expand HPE's testing, warehousing, and manufacturing infrastructure in the Chippewa Valley.
