The 2026 Continuous Improvement Program Report released
Governor Tony Evers and Department of Administration (DOA) Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld have released the 2026 Continuous Improvement Program Report. Prepared by the Strategic Management and Planning team, the report details how simple, data-driven changes across state agencies improved daily operations for employees and residents while saving a record $7.75 million a year.
Governor Evers commended public workers for finding smart solutions to everyday problems and keeping state government accountable to taxpayers. Covering fiscal year 2026, the report highlights 104 worker-led projects across various state agencies—a 22 percent increase from last year. Together, these projects delivered $378,000 in one-time savings, saved $7.75 million annually, and freed up more than 18,000 staff hours so employees can focus on essential public services.
Secretary Blumenfeld emphasized that teamwork among state agencies is helping Wisconsin run more efficiently. Beyond financial savings, the state reached key milestones, including its first Continuous Improvement Forum with 75 state leaders and an inaugural awards ceremony honoring standout teams from the departments of Agriculture, Revenue, Safety and Professional Services, and Transportation. Training participation also surged, with completions more than doubling and 90 percent of participants rating the courses favorably.
Over the last three years, steady improvements have helped state agencies cut down on errors, speed up services, and reduce frustration for citizens. To read the full report, visit the state’s Continuous Improvement website.
