The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department reports three incidents that occurred in the county Saturday (September 26). Late in the afternoon a DNR Warden conducted a traffic stop at the US Highway 14 Boat Landing. An Iowa County Sheriff Deputy was requested. During the investigation, James E. Poppe, 32 of Spring Green, was arrested for Operating While Revoked, IID Tampering/Fail to Install/Violate Court Order, Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor. Poppe is also being held on an Out of County warrant. Poppe was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked on the charges.
In the evening the Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an automated crash alert near County Road K and Sweeny Road in the Town of Arena. The Arena Fire Department, Arena EMS and Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the scene. During the investigation, Levi G. Moen, 25 of Mazomanie, was arrested for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control and Operating While Under the Influence, first offense. Moen was released to a responsible party. No injuries were reported.
Around an hour and a half later the Iowa County Communications Center received a report of an automated crash alert near the 900 block of Harms Road in the Town of Eden. The Cobb Fire Department, Cobb First Responders, Highland EMS and an Iowa County Sheriff Deputy all responded to the scene. The incident was determined to be a phone that had fallen off a UTV and was in a nearby pasture. No injuries were reported.
Tim Thiede is a Muscoda native who earned a degree in Radio/TV/Film from UW-Oshkosh where he decided to return to school as a non-traditional student.
