Missing Berlin Man Found Dead

WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- The 42-year-old Berlin man who failed to show up for a jury trial on a second degree sexual assault of a child charge in Green Lake County last week has been found dead.  

Waushara County Sheriff’s officials say Matthew Krause was found dead Saturday in Waushara County of what appears to be a self-inflicted wound.

The trial for Krause was cancelled last Tuesday and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest when he failed to show up for trial.  

The Waushara County Sheriff’s Office received a call that morning. He was identified as a missing person and a welfare check was asked for. The last contact with him in the Berlin area was Monday, August 31^st at 10:30 pm.
