
River Valley lost 42-7 on Friday night against visiting Fennimore in a cross over game between the S.W.C. and the S.W.A.L. The Golden Eagles improved to 3-0 with the win. They jumped to a 21-0 lead in the first half. Reese Kelly ran for two scores and Tagan Dresen threw for a touchdown on a fake field goal. Axel Hernandez kicked 3 extra points as Fennimore shot ahead.
River Valley scored its only touchdown with 3:39 left in the first half. Quarterback Danny Zaemisch threw to Fuechee Thao and the pass play covered 45 yards. Zaemisch kicked the extra point and later intercepted a pass. The Blackhawks had the ball and were trailing 21-7, before Colton Tollefson picked off an R.V. pass. Reese Kelly scored for the third time and the Golden Eagles led 27-7 at halftime. Colton Tollefson ran for a touchdown in the 2nd half and Jackson Sheckler threw to Gianni Filardo for the two pointer. The last touchdown happened when Jackson Sheckler scored on a quarterback sneak. The Fennimore defense was led in the second half by Tagan Dresen and Liam Collins who both intercepted River Valley passes and Mason Walker blocked a punt.
Following the 42-7 loss, River Valley will continue to search for a win when they next host Dodgeville on Friday night. It will be the conference opener for the Blackhawks. Fennimore will return home to host Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg.
