UW-Whitewater Says No Threat to Life
WHITEWATER, Wis. (Civic Media) – The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater says there was no threat to life Wednesday morning. It comes after an emergency alert earlier in the day reported an active threat on campus.
The university issued a campus safety alert shortly after 11 a.m. asking students, employees and visitors to shelter in place unless told otherwise. Officials said police checked university buildings on the Whitewater campus.
Wednesday was the first day of the fall semester. The university did not immediately provide details about what led to the initial alert.
