Congressional Black Caucus PAC endorses David Crowley for Wisconsin governor

The Congressional Black Caucus PAC is endorsing Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley in the race for Wisconsin governor.
With just eight days to go until Election Day, Crowley has a steep hill to climb to catch up to frontrunner State Rep. Francesca Hong, according to polling in recent days.
After former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes dropped out last week, Crowley is the only Black candidate still in the race, but the endorsement also draws another line in the sand against Hong, just like it did when Gov. Tony Evers endorsed Crowley.
“The Congressional Black Caucus PAC is proud to endorse David Crowley for Governor of Wisconsin because he has the track record and executive experience to lead the state forward on day one,” said U.S. Rep. Greg Meeks, chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC. “David has consistently delivered for Wisconsinites to make life more affordable, create jobs, and invest in affordable housing, health care, and an economy that works for everyone. He’s the kind of proven leader who brings people together, delivers results, and fights every day to expand opportunity for working families across Wisconsin. We’re proud to stand with David because he will always stand with the people of Wisconsin.”
Crowley has already been endorsed by Milwaukee’s U.S. Rep Gwen Moore and other local officials and labor unions.
“The Congressional Black Caucus PAC has a long history of supporting leaders who fight for working families, and I’m honored to earn their endorsement,” said Crowley. “Our campaign continues to build the momentum we need to win in August and defeat Tom Tiffany in November. I’m committed to earning every vote by reaching voters across Wisconsin with a vision that expands opportunity, strengthens our communities, and delivers for working families.”
The last Marquette University Law School poll before the election had Hong polling at 38% statewide and Crowley at 7%, with ⅓ undecided. But that was before Barnes (16%) dropped out.
Election Day is Aug. 11 and early voting has begun.
