Viroqua Fire Department responds to fire on Monson Road

Viroqua Fire Chief Chad Buros reports, the Viroqua Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at E7414 Monson Road in the Town of Franklin. Dispatchers sent units to the scene where crews arrived to find a detached garage heavily engulfed in smoke and flames.
Firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control, successfully extinguishing the fire before it could spread further. While the garage sustained major damage from the heat and flames, there were no reported injuries to either civilians or the responding firefighters.
The Viroqua Fire Department was assisted on the scene by several agencies, including the Westby and Viola Fire Departments, the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Tri-State Ambulance, and Vernon Electric. According to Chief Buros, the exact origin and cause of the fire currently remain under investigation.
