Milwaukee, it is going to be extremely hot this week.
High temperatures the week of June 29 are expected to reach above 90 degrees with heat indexes closer to 110 degrees.
Monday and Tuesday are expected to be the hottest days, according to the National Weather Service. An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect Monday afternoon through Monday night.
It will still be hot Wednesday through Friday, NWS adds. Per usual, the further inland you are the warmer it will be.
The City of Milwaukee has a list of cooling centers for those that can’t get out of the heat.
The city recommends that residents limit physical activity and should try to spend most of the day in air-conditioned spaces. Residents should drink plenty of water throughout the day and avoid caffeinated or alcoholic beverages.
