The City of Elroy is seeking applicants to serve on its Community Development Authority
The City of Elroy is currently seeking applicants to serve on its Community Development Authority (CDA). This vital board is responsible for overseeing a variety of local initiatives, including blight elimination, urban renewal programs, community development projects, and housing efforts in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes. The CDA provides a critical framework for enhancing the city’s infrastructure and residential quality of life.
The authority is composed of seven members in total. This includes two members of the City Council who serve during their active terms and five non-council residents. All members are appointed by the mayor for terms lasting up to four years, with all appointments subject to approval by the Council. The city aims to assemble a diverse group of individuals who possess the ability and experience necessary to guide these important programs.
Ideal candidates will have backgrounds or interest in specialized fields such as urban planning, housing, economic development, finance, tax increment financing, or public administration. Strong communication skills, ethical judgment, and a demonstrated commitment to the Elroy community are also highly valued attributes for potential commissioners.
Residents interested in serving on the CDA are invited to submit a letter of interest outlining their specific qualifications. These letters must be received by 4:00 PM on July 10, 2026. Submissions can be hand-delivered to City Hall or sent via mail to the City of Elroy, Attn: Geena Skowronski, City Administrator, 1717 Omaha Street, Elroy, WI 53929.
