Public hearing announced for Unified Community Services of Grant and Iowa Counties
Unified Community Services of Grant & Iowa Counties, along with the Grant County Department of Social Services, has announced a public hearing to discuss the 2027 budgets and programming for several key community departments. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 16 at 5:00 pm. This event provides a vital opportunity for citizens to voice their concerns, expectations, and proposals regarding county-level services and local initiatives.
The hearing will be held in person at the Community Services Building, Lobby Conference Room, located at 8820 Hwy. 35/61 South in Lancaster. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual option is available via Zoom.
A wide range of programs will be addressed during the session, including services for abused and neglected individuals, community mental health, developmental disabilities, and alcoholism and drug abuse. Other topics include juvenile delinquency services, elderly care, and the Alzheimer’s Program. Please note that while local programs are the focus, federal assistance programs like Food Stamps and Medical Assistance are not subject to discussion at this hearing.
For residents who cannot attend the meeting or wish to provide additional input, written comments are being accepted.
