MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WAUK) – The National Weather Service Milwaukee says two EF-2s and two EF-1s touched down in southeastern Wisconsin Thursday evening.

Multiple tornadoes carved a path through Milwaukee’s northwest suburbs Thursday evening May 15, causing destruction less than an hour away from downtown.

The NWS storm survey found EF-2 rated damage from a twister that began west of Juneau. This tornado was on the ground for approximately 9.2 miles, ending just east of Horicon. Peak wind speeds were estimated to be 120 mph.

There was also EF-1 rated damage from a weaker tornado that began near the Dodge County Airport, north of Juneau. The NWS says this tornado proceeded to the east before ending just east of the Rock River. Path length is estimated to be 4 miles. Peak wind speed was 95 mph.

EF-2 rated damage was found from a tornado that hit Mayville. It began southwest of town. This tornado continued to the northeast for approximately 5 miles. Peak winds reached 120 mph. Trees and power lines are downed and buildings in the industrial park were damaged.

The NWS survey also found EF-1 rated damage from a brief tornado southwest of Lomira. It was on the ground for 1/2 mile and reached wind speeds of 95 mph.

Further north grain bins were destroyed and a semi trailer rolled over, on the Sheboygan/Ozaukee County line West of I-43.
