ELY, Minn (WELY) – Three large wildfires continue to spread rapidly throughout Northern Minnesota, and Ely is considered to be at high risk.
The three fires, known as the Camp House, Jenkins Creek and Munger Shaw fires, have decimated much of Northern Minnesota, destroying 144 structures and nearly 37,000 acres of land, according to Fox 9 News.
The St. Louis County government evacuation map grouped Ely in Evacuation Zone D, which is labeled as a zone that is at “high risk of storm or wildfire activity.” The Jensen Creek inferno has already spread into St. Louis County and is approximately 10 miles south of Babbitt.

No evacuation order has been issued for St. Louis County as of Wednesday afternoon. In the event of an evacuation, read on how you can stay safe here.
