RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) – As the holiday season approaches, the Tex Reynolds’ Toys for Tots program is gearing up to provide Christmas gifts to children in need across Racine County.
The locally run charity is hosting several fundraisers and toy collection events to support its mission. Upcoming fundraisers include:
Each participating bar and restaurant will donate a portion of their sales from these events to the Tex Reynolds’ Toys for Tots program. People are also encouraged to bring new or gently used toys to donate, with collection boxes will be available at each location.
The program, which operates year-round, relies on the efforts of volunteers to collect, clean, and refurbish toys. Those volunteers help identify families in need and prepare age-specific gift bags containing books, puzzles, and games. Local businesses and community facilities serve as drop-off points for toy donations, some are listed here.
To register for gifts, families must provide proof of residency in Racine County and identification for each child. Registration is available at the City Hall Annex Building, 800 Center Street, on select days through Dec. 10.
The Tex Reynolds’ Toys for Tots program is still welcoming volunteers to help in lots of places, from toy collection and refurbishment to gift distribution. Those interested can call the workshop at 262-633-1379 to schedule an appointment and tour the facility.
