By Jimmie Kaska, Civic Media StaffWISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Incumbent Republican Calvin Callahan has been called the winner of the race for the 35th Assembly District in Wisconsin.
The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening.
The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered solid Republican with a projected margin of 30 points.
Callahan was first elected to the Assembly in 2020 and is also a member of the Lincoln County Board since 2018. He is a full-time legislator who serves on eight committees and on the Speaker’s Task Force on Artificial Intelligence.
Callahan defeated Democratic challenger Elizabeth McCrank, who has worked in a number of fields, including as a librarian. She is also a member of the Lincoln County Board.
