
Gov. Evers visits Wausau, with women’s health care in mind
WAUSAU, Wis. (WXCO) – Wausau Family Pharmacy talks how they serve the homeless and community outreach that sets them apart from major pharmacies.
During his State of the State address Gov. Evers made an announcement to expand emergency contraception.
Gov. Evers made his presence known in Central Wisconsin on Wednesday by stopping by the Wausau Family Pharmacy on S. 3rd Ave.

“The Secretary and I are just amazed at amount of work that goes on with this group of people inside here.” – Gov. Evers
Ran by sisters, they were pleased to talk about vaccinations, how they serve the homeless and all of the community outreach that they do outside of the building.

“The Hmong community is really important here in the Wausau area.“ – Gov. Evers
Gov. Evers is urging lawmakers to pass a bipartisan bill that would expand postpartum coverage from 60 days to a full year.
“The bottom line is we need to make sure that women get the care that they need.” – Gov. Evers
It would enable Wisconsin to join 43 other states that currently extend coverage.
“We now have two Republicans that have figured it out and this is important for women.” – Gov. Evers
